Immersive experiences are based on media technologies that allow the illusion of a perceptive and mental plunge into artificial worlds. The viewers’ action scope is often reduced to a mere passive consumption of media content. The media machinery behind the immersion remains concealed. Miyazaki demonstrates simple ways of helping ourselves out in a playful, aesthetic way and of making the invisible audible.
