Sedlmeir is “1 man, 3 accordions and 190 bpm”. Sedlmeir is a hard rock robot. Punk rock is cut to shreds, 70s hard rock is reduced to the bare essentials and the beat box hammers out thudding beats. The microphone stands vibrate, the guitar gives off sparks – some even say blood. But Sedlmeir is adds up to more than this. Since the release of his second album, Feelings, he has shown that he can also master the tasteful tearjerker and tragic pop song. In a mixture of rock ’n’ roll, beat and electronic chanson, he sings and talks about truths and untruths, rants subversive stuff and steers well clear of any airs of self-importance. Since then – after three albums, scores of singles and EPs, and collaborations with Rummelsnuff, Oliver Maria Schmitt, Carsten Lisecki and Christiane Rösinger, to name but a few – the press is unanimous: Sedlmeir is “… the only man from whom Elvis could have learnt a thing or two.” (Vice Magazine)
