Ángela Muñoz Martínez: Deep Listening: Open your body and your ears will follow

This workshop is a listening and movement event, taking inspiration from the ideas of “deep listening” as explored and articulated by composer and sound artist Pauline Oliveros (1932–2016). We will observe the connections generated by activating the body and the ears through somatic movement techniques and collective imagining.

In the first half of the session we will emphasize the internal sensory experience, acknowledging verbal guidance facilitated by Ángela Muñoz Martínez. From this, we will move gradually into a score-free, word-free space, accompanied by live music. The workshop will be well-suited to people who seek to connect with their own bodies while considering new definitions of listening. All are welcome to attend – to move, stand, sit, lie down and enjoy the event in their own way.
