The jury for the Theatertreffen chooses the ten productions invited to Theatertreffen and is made up of seven theatre critics. These honorary jurors are usually serving three years in succession. The jury is appointed by the director of the Theatertreffen and the director of the Berliner Festspiele.

Graduated from the German School of Journalism in Munich and worked for the arts department of the weekly magazine Der Spiegel (Hamburg) and the arts section of the Süddeutsche Zeitung in Munich subsequently. He was appointed arts editor of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung in Berlin in July 2001.
From 1973 to 1998 arts editor-in-chief of the Badische Zeitung in Freiburg, today freelance journalist, contributor to the weekly newspaper Die Zeit. Member of the panel for the Berlin Theatertreffen 1980-1984, 1990-1993, 1995-1998. Since 1993 he has been a member of the panel for the Else Lasker Schüler Playwright Competition of the federal state of Rheinland-Pfalz. Lecturer at various colleges and academies.

Member of the jury for the Theatertreffen from 1992 to 1995, member of the finalist panel of the 1999 Mülheim Theatertage, co-juror of the 2001 Hamburger Autorentage at the Thalia Theater.
Born in 1970. Jazz education followed by German and English language and literature studies in Zurich; stayed in Berlin several times. Has been working as freelance journalist since 1995 (Die Wochenzeitung, Tages-Anzeiger, die tageszeitung, Frankfurter Rundschau, Theater der Zeit, Theater Heute). In 1999 position as "permanent freelance writer" for the NZZ on a two-year-term, since 2001 for Tages-Anzeiger in Zurich. Priorities: theatre, cultural politics and occasionally popular culture.
Born in 1950. Studied German and English language and literature. 1976 – 1980 editor for various political and cultural magazines. Worked as a teacher and studied philosophy following the 1980s. Has been working as freelance theatre critic for various media in Northrhine-Westphalia since 1987 (taz, WDR, HR, Theater heute etc.)
