The Theatertreffen-Blog promotes emerging cultural critics, develops new journalistic formats for the internet, renders the festival’s day-to-day events transparent and accessible to all and documents the many facets of today’s theatre in word, image, text and sound as a multi-media archive.
Open Call 2019
Applications for 2019 are unfortunately no longer possible.
The 2019 Theatertreffen-Blog’s open call is aimed at cultural journalists and authors with a passion for the theatre. However, applications by experts from other fields, for example from photography, video art and illustration, are also very welcome. We are interested in a critical eye that wants to view the productions invited to the festival in a variety of contexts – be it from a social, political or artistic perspective.
The 2019 Theatertreffen-Blog explicitly wants to give a wide range of voices access to the world of media and culture, to refine qualifications and further develop journalistic writing. We are thus interested in emerging cultural journalists from under-represented communities – for instance from the queer, post-migrant or Jewish communities – as well as Persons of Color, whose work has an anti-racist, post-colonial or queer-feminist focus and who are willing to commit to in-depth coverage and editorial examination as a team during the 56th Berlin Theatertreffen.
The 2019 Theatertreffen-Blog will take place from 3 to 19 May.
