Latest Information on the Treffen junger Autor*innen 2020
Date: 8 September 2020
We are currently proceeding on the assumption that the Treffen junger Autor*innen will be able to take place in November, in spite of the current limitations caused by the regulations for the containment of the coronavirus. For the first time, it will take place as a closed encounter. We are aware that the meeting will be carried out under quite different terms and conditions than before. Due to construction measures at Haus der Berliner Festspiele, we are planning to hold this year’s meeting at the youth culture institution Weiße Rose in Schöneberg. We are currently collaborating with the venue, all participating cooperation partners and various specialist departments of our organisation to develop a safety and hygiene concept that will help to enable us to realise the Treffen junger Autor*innen. Together, we will try to find solutions for individual impracticalities that might arise for some.
We are keeping ourselves informed about the latest developments regarding the limitations and requirements set by the authorities. If there should come a point where it would seem irresponsible to carry out the meeting, or if it should be prohibited by the authorities, we plan to postpone the Treffen junger Autor*innen to a later date.
The winners of the 35th Treffen junger Autor*innen have been chosen. Out of a total of 668 applications the jury selected 21 young authors. Their prize is an invitation to the Treffen junger Autor*innen with readings, workshop etc. We congratulate!
