With its architecture, the Haus der Berliner Festspiele is one of Berlin’s listed buildings of postwar modernism. Despite the guidelines and restrictions this imposes, we endeavour to offer all visitors access as free from barriers as possible. For this, we continue to develop the necessary provisions.
If you have any questions concerning your visit, our ticket office is happy to assist you.

You can reach the Haus der Berliner Festspiele barrier-free by using public transport: the metro station Spichernstraße (walking distance ca. 550 m) has two lifts on the platform of the U3 line in the direction of Warschauer Straße and in the direction of Krumme Lanke as well as tactile paving for people with low vision on both sides of the platform.
The Haus der Berliner Festspiele at Schaperstraße 24 has barrier-free, step-free access to the foyer and to the auditorium on the ground floor. The upper foyers as well as the side stage are accessible via a lift. All access doors are open during events. Our staff is happy to provide you with support at any time.
A toilet for all genders as well as for people with limited mobility is located on the ground floor on the left-hand side of the entrance to the main stage.
Four dedicated places for wheelchair users are provided within the auditorium with step-free access. We regret that wheelchairs cannot be borrowed at the Haus der Berliner Festspiele. For safety reasons and as a result of our fixed seating, walking aids and rollators may not be left in the auditorium. You are welcome to leave these at the cloakroom. Our front of house staff will be happy to accompany you to your seat or another point in the building, take your walking aid to the cloakroom and then return it to you at an appointed time. You are always welcome to speak to our front of house team about your needs at any time.
Unfortunately, the Haus der Berliner Festspiele does not currently have an induction loop system. Some events are presented with German or English subtitles. Please inform yourself of the opportunities on the respective event page. You can filter by events with subtitles in our calendar.
Due to the ongoing renovations, a visitor guidance system with markings has not yet been finished. We ask you for your understanding. Assistance dogs may be brought along throughout the entire building. The elevator in the building features tactile signs.
Public parking spaces are located on Schaperstraße. Access to the Haus der Berliner Festspiele via the main entrance as well as via the side stage from the parking areas is barrier-free. As the parking areas do not have any parking spaces especially for persons with disabilities, it is possible to park briefly in front of the entrance to the side stage in order to allow persons with limited mobility to get out or get in. This is also possible for taxis.
