A Story of European Jazz

Film by Julian Benedikt
GER 2006

Film Premiere

After the movie Blue Note – a sensitive portrait of label founders Alfred Lion and Francis Wolff and a distinct European account of US jazz – German director Julian Benedikt pays tribute to the European jazz scene. His new documentary gathers various representatives of all ages and musical backgrounds who share one common interest – the music. Neither too sophisticated nor simply reproducing the story from A-Z the movie leaves its audience to come up with individual impressions of European jazz past and present.
