Concert | Late Lounge / Long Night of Chinese Music
The Thundercloud Project, under this evocative name, a Beijing club night will take place in the rooms of the Berliner Festspiele, surprising, intense and unique, the spark is set to fly: between the artists and musicians from the People's Republic of China who work with sound and moving images and the visitors, who can immerse themselves in the art party event by listening, watching and dancing. The event will feature a state-of-the-art show combining ambient electronic music, visuals and minimal techno, incorporating the kind of mixed-media artistic approaches that currently characterise the fast-paced club scene in the Chinese capital.
Beijing curator Li Zhenhua has brought together Feng Jiangzhou, founder of China's first punk band, visual artist Wu Ershan, and electronic musicians Hu Zi and Zhang Jian from the group FM3 for this Berlin club event. The aim is to pursue a non-verbal artistic group process; feelings and thoughts are to be conveyed exclusively through sound and visual expressions and, ideally, to jump across and strike home.
