Concert | Alpine Music ↔ Town Music
The concert unites highly individual composers. HK Gruber’s Nebelsteinmusik (fog stone music) is a homage to his teacher and mentor Gottfried von Einem. The piece is based on contrasting series of tones developed from the andante amoroso from Alban Berg’s Lyric Suite and an anagram of von Einem’s name. Edu Haubensak’s Falsches Konzert für 97 Saiten I–IV (Wrong concert for strings I-IV) will present a composer whose works are far too seldom performed in our country and whose elaborated tone systems and tunings produce surprising harmonics and sound formations. Ending the concert will be a piece by Elliott Sharp, Proof of Erdos, a homage to the great mathematician and theoretician Pal Erdös. The piece will illustrate the fact that it is indeed possible to turn phenomena and structures taken from the realms of natural science, physics or mathematics into lively and exciting musical sounds.
