time to gather

“time to gather” is a piano concert of a very special kind: without a set programme, without the invisible wall usually separating the artist from the audience and without a predefined ending – instead it offers the freedom to listen from nearby by or from far away, to talk to the pianist and to choose the next piece with him, to play the piano with him or even instead of him, maybe to sing, to sit, alone or together, to lie down, to walk around with a drink in your hand, and to help determine the course of the evening.

For the opening of MaerzMusik 2016 Marino Formenti has prepared a large number of compositions, dating from the Middle Ages to the present day. What is then performed and heard will be decided by communicating in the moment.
