Poésie d'action – mit diesem Ausdruck bezeichnet Liping Ting selbst das Besondere ihrer Kunst. Er steht für die Verbindung von Tanz, Ritual, Klang und Poesie, die sie in eine auf ihren Körper bezogen Raumchoreografie überführt.
In collaboration with MaerzMusik, Liping Ting presents a new work at the daadgalerie: “Water Timing S. – Time’s Spiral”, a sound and light installation featuring video projections. The work is conceived as a response to current global changes, socio-political crises, and paradoxical debates.
With her sonic examination of the most elemental human sounds—those of breathing—Liping Ting seeks out a multitude of various “presents” that appear and disappear without being truly tangible. Employing a play of shadows, she conjures up collective memories and intimate instances of unknown intermediary realms, a meditative state of void, “soundless sound, self without self, beyond egos.”
The installation opening will be held on March 24 and features three short performative interventions as well as a long-term performance along with Boris Nieslony.
At The Long Now, Liping Ting will also be present with a durational performance in the control room of Kraftwerk Berlin.
