The listening salon proposes a tentative parcours more than an itinerary inspired by my art practice. We will consider intent efforts to listen and communicate over long distance with an eye and an ear for the various techniques that were developed to bridge the long haul. Examples come from literature and sonic cultures and string military warfare with libidinal mating calls to other outcries of alarm, joy and loud expression. We move towards a cry that unites many of these aspects, the zagharit (arabic) or youyou (French) a shrill trill that conveys joy and other intense emotions and which originated in old rituals of ululation and lament, before spreading from parts in Africa and the Middle-East across the globe. The salon ends with the screening of "Le Cadeau" (48', HD), a film Myriam Van Imschoot created with an ensemble of youyou-sters.
