The highlight of the Treffen junge Musikszene is the public concert by the prize winners. The jury has selected a total of 13 acts as remarkable and exemplary for this year's meeting. Four bands, two duos and seven soloists will be performing on stage that evening.

This year's selection presents a relatively young cohort of astonishingly mature, accomplished and experimental musicians, including numerous strong female artists. The musical genres cover a wide range from pop in its most diverse forms, including references to the Neue Deutsche Welle, to rock, hip hop, folk, jazz, bossa nova, funk, post grunge, punk and alternative metal, to electronic and instrumental compositions. The lyrics are mainly in English and German, but Turkish and Albanian can also be heard. In terms of content, the tracks recount personal experiences and interpersonal relationships, almost like public diaries. Future plans and life goals are just as much a focus as self-doubt and questions about one's own social position. Perplexity and powerlessness are expressed in relation to the state of the world, the planet and its resources. In addition, there are strong feminist statements and empowerment for women as well as for all people, with the reminder: you are beautiful simply because you are.
