With BAUBAU, the artist Kerstin Brätsch designed an admission-free play space for kids at the Gropius Bau. Here, the everyday rules of art institutions don’t apply: children have free reign and can have fun.

Jazzfest Berlin is turning 60. In its anniversary edition, past, present and future come together: in 24 acts spread over four festival days, style-defining icons of jazz history will share the stage with newer voices and projects from the global jazz community. Advance ticket sale has started.

For more than three decades, Rirkrit Tiravanija has been expanding the possibilities of what can happen in an exhibition space. In “DAS GLÜCK IST NICHT IMMER LUSTIG” (Happiness is not always fun), the Gropius Bau presents more than 80 of the artist’s works in which Tiravanija often refers to cultural clichés and politics in Germany.

The selection of prizewinners for the Treffen junger Autor*innen has been announced. From almost 400 applications, a jury has selected 20 young writers whose texts deal with the big themes of being human, feminist freedom and trauma, among others. The programme has been published and tickets are available now.
