<p>Over the course of five decades, Nancy Holt explored how we perceive our environment and how we attempt to understand our place on the surface of this planet. From March 2024, the Gropius Bau presents &ldquo;Circles of Light&rdquo;, the artist&rsquo;s most comprehensive survey exhibition in Germany to date. It includes film, video, photography, sound works, concrete poetry, sculptures and expansive installations as well as drawings and documentation from over 25&nbsp;years.</p>

<p>With &ldquo;How Love Moves&rdquo;, the Gropius Bau presents the first major institutional solo exhibition of Pallavi Paul. As an artist and film scholar, Paul engages the camera as her primary tool to interrogate how regimes of &ldquo;truth&rdquo; are produced and sustained in public life. Through her multimedia practice spanning film, installation, performance, drawing, photography and writing, she negotiates the documentary not only conjured as film or image &ndash; but as an ecology of materials, networks, global alliances and systems.</p>

<p>From October 2023, the Berliner Festspiele is to launch an annual Performing Arts Season that will present a panorama of international dance, theatre and performance productions on the stage of the Haus der Berliner Festspiele and the Gropius Bau through the autumn and winter months. Some of the works on display will be co-produced by the Berliner Festspiele or produced in Berlin. The Curator and Programme Director of the Berliner Festspiele&rsquo;s Performing Arts Season is the dramaturg Yusuke Hashimoto.</p>

<p>Considered one of the key works of modernism, it is a hundred years after the genesis of Igor Stravinsky&rsquo;s &ldquo;Le Sacre du Printemps&rdquo; that Sasha Waltz takes on the Mariinsky Theatre&rsquo;s offer to engage with this extraordinary piece of musical and dance history. Its title translates to &ldquo;The Rite of Spring&rdquo;.&nbsp;For this evening, it is accompanied by the &ldquo;Sc&egrave;ne d&rsquo;Amour&rdquo; from &ldquo;Rom&eacute;o et Juliette&rdquo; by Hector Berlioz and her choreography &ldquo;L&rsquo;Apr&egrave;s-midi d&rsquo;un faune&rdquo; to the music of Claude Debussy.</p>

<p>On 26 January, the Theatertreffen&rsquo;s jury of critics announced their selection of 10 remarkable productions for the 2024 Theatertreffen at a press conference. Our congratulations go to the nominated production teams and all participants! The programme will be published on 5 April.</p>


Theatertreffen 2024

<p>&ldquo;Radical Playgrounds&rdquo;, an art parcours at the Gropius Bau, is spending eleven weeks exploring the differences between the concepts of play as competition and free play. Visitors are invited to walk and climb on the various installations and sculptures, to activate them and to shape the project collectively.</p>

<p>Ren&eacute; Pollesch provided unforgettable moments at the Theatertreffen in 2002 with the invitation to his &ldquo;Prater-Trilogie&rdquo; parts 1 to 3 and in 2012 with &quot;Kill your Darlings! Streets of Berladelphia for unforgettable moments at the Theatertreffen, for which we are deeply grateful. Ren&eacute; Pollesch died suddenly and unexpectedly on 26 February at the age of 61. The 3sat recording of &ldquo;Kill your Darlings! Streets of Berladelphia&rdquo; is available in our media library until 27&nbsp;May 2024.</p>
