Ernst Reijseger’s musical repertoire defies classification. No other European has pushed the cello's liberation in the field of jazz and beyond further than him. So far he has been presenting his extraordinary diversity with bands like the Clusone Trio and the Arcado String Trio. His adopted daughter Janna might be responsible for his close connections to Africa: cooperation with Senegalese Mola Sylla and Serigne C.M. Gueye, currently living in Amsterdam, reveal a close network of the Dutch free scene and immigrants of all backgrounds imaginable.
