Concert
Evolving within the Southern region of that crazy-quilt cultural congeries known as America, from indivisibly rural and urban roots, The Ear Reverents bring forth a music at once as old as the hills and as new as tomorrow, comprising approximately equal parts intuition, tradition and sedition. While the music plays the band, Jeff Mosier has a subtle way of inhabiting the tune, offering infinite ephemeral embellishments to the groove, a virtual continuo profundo, across a wider plectral spectrum than you might expect from a mere banjo. His cohorts converse lovingly, with feeling and grace. Collectively embarked on a work in progress, they take the music seriously enough to not take themselves too seriously, and seldom are they solemn. There is intent in their sharing of good news. Even if their blend of original and traditional repertoire is not immediately familiar, you will quickly feel at home with it.
