Michael Riessler, Jack DeJohnette © Promo, Carlos Péricas
Michael Riessler is a free spirit who, over the years, has developed a unique musical language. His works defy common terms like jazz/rock, solo/collective play, composition/ improvisation. As exceptional as his style is the line-up of this ensemble, with barrel-organ virtuoso Pierre Charial providing a main pivot.

__________
One of the most influential drummers in contemporary jazz, Jack DeJohnette has played with Charles Lloyd, Miles Davis and Keith Jarrett, as well as keeping up with free funk and the M-Base scene. After contributing to two of Don Byron’s recordings in the past, he has now recruited Byron for his own band.
