In Tante Hänsi – Ein Jenseitsreigen composer Mela Meierhans has woven family stories from Inner Switzerland into a musical theatre, in which an instrumental ensemble, a mezzo-soprano and a counter-tenor are juxtaposed with the Jodlerklub Wiesenberg counting nineteen yodellers. A frictional encounter of contemporary music and folk music between living and dying, the celebration of rosary rituals, the meeting of abortionists from Inner Switzerland, the home of both the composer and the contemporary witness Tante Hänsi. The piece is directed by Raphael Urweider, poet from Bern, Barbara Gut, artist from Stans, has designed a space inhabited by creatures that are half animal and half human.
