Digital Programme Booklets at Musikfest Berlin 2026

Dear visitors to the Musikfest Berlin,

We have updated our programme booklets: from now on, you will receive a free programme leaflet containing all the key information about the concert programme and the performers. Vocal works will be made accessible via surtitles or printed lyrics. In-articles, interviews and videos relating to the concert are now available in the digital programme booklet.

The QR code can be found on the free programme leaflet, which you will receive at the venue. Alternatively, you can find the direct link to the digital programme on the relevant event page at www.berlinerfestspiele.de/musikfest-kalender

This allows us to offer you more content – whilst at the same time reducing unnecessary paper consumption, as the printed programmes have been used less and less recently, whilst demand for digital content has grown.

There are the following exceptions for Musikfest Berlin 2026: printed programmes will be distributed free of charge at the events on 5 September (WDR Symphony Orchestra I) and 21 September (Kanze Nō Theatre). For concerts by Berlin’s orchestras and choirs, printed programmes will be available for purchase at the venue.

FAQ on the change to programme booklets

Why are there no longer any printed programme booklets?

Demand for printed booklets has fallen sharply in recent years, whilst the use of digital resources has risen significantly. We can also offer more content digitally – such as videos and interviews with artists – which was not possible in print.

I don’t have a smartphone – how can I access the information?

You will receive a free printed programme leaflet containing all the key information about the concert programme and the line-up.

Will I still be able to follow the sung works without reading the detailed programme booklet?

Yes. Sung works are made accessible through surtitles in the auditorium or free printed copies of the lyrics.

How do I find the digital programme booklet?

The QR code can be found on the free programme leaflet. Alternatively, you can find the direct link to the digital programme on the relevant event page at www.berlinerfestspiele.de/musikfest-kalender

Can I access the digital content during the concert?

No, mobile phones may not be used in the auditorium of the Berlin Philharmonie so as not to disturb other concert-goers. You will find the key information about the concert programme and the line-up in the free programme leaflets.

Does the digital programme cost anything?

No, access is free for all visitors.

Can I view the digital content again at home?

Yes, the digital programme will remain available online even after the concert.

Can I download or print out the digital programme?

At present, there is no print or download version available that goes beyond the functionality of printing directly from the browser. The digital programme has been developed as a multimedia online resource. Much of the content and functionality would work only to a limited extent, or not at all, in a PDF version. The most important information about the concert programme, the performers and, where applicable, the song lyrics will be available free of charge as a printed programme at the venue. We will evaluate the use of the digital programmes and take into account the demand for a print or download option.
