The Myth of God Money © Dialogues Inévitables
The god called money is a rogue - we have known that since before the financial crisis. Sent to earth to facilitate barter transactions, he has a lot of fun playing with people's weaknesses and becomes ever more powerful in the process. The myth of the god money takes us on an ironic and ambiguous journey into a fictitious yet familiar universe. It shows us humans to be as ingenious and sensitive as they are small-minded and vulgar. On three narrative levels, dancers, music and the Gan Gan (the ‘talking’ drum of the Yoruba) guide us through the story of the god Money and his followers. The choreography repeatedly explores the nature of the human body.
