Into the Open. Nele Hertling.

During the festival, we will present the book “Into the Open”, a homage to the founder of Tanz im August, Nele Hertling. The publication includes essays, extensive interviews, tributes from artists, and documents the unique history of Hertling’s internationally successful programme curation. Hertling and the choreographer Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, who have enjoyed a close bond for many years, speak not just about the past, but also about what it means today to develop a choreographic work and to take it on tour. The conversation is moderated by Annemie Vanackere, the artistic and managing director of HAU Hebbel am Ufer.
