Arne Lygre, Norway’s most important contemporary writer alongside Jon Fosse, imagines an claustrophobic experiment into the depths of humanity in Tage unter. Leaving the matter open, whether the characters and events depicted are real, Lygre’s blunt, direct and yet poetic language creates an exciting amalgam of a thriller and a dark game.
French director Stéphane Braunschweig, whose work is seen here at spielzeit’europa for the second time, continues his successful collaboration with Udo Samel in Tage unter, following Woyzeck (1999) and Ghosts (2006).
