Forum 2025

Inventory – tools and methods of artistic practice in young dance

Sunday, 28.9.2025 – Thursday, 2.10.2025

The Tanztreffen der Jugend forum is aimed at dancers, dance educators, choreographers and theater makers with dance experience.

Gabriele Reuter – Concept and direction

This year’s forum program opens up a view into the diverse choreographic toolboxes of artists who are at home in young dance. In workshops and discussion formats, experienced choreographers and dance educators will share their methods and individual approaches. They invite participants to try out these tools in practice, think them through together and adapt them for their own work.

The focus will be on fundamental questions:
What attitude do I adopt when meeting young people in the artistic process? Which methods have proven successful in my practice - and how can they be adapted to different age groups, contexts or group sizes? How do experiences from teaching become transferable tools?
The forum sees itself as a space for peer-based learning and collegial exchange. In a protected setting, new ideas can be tried out, methods reflected on and adapted for your own work – for example in the participatory development of movement material, in different dance styles, in collective work processes or in dealing with text. Lecturers and participants meet at eye level: as learners and experts at the same time.

This year, there will be even more encounters between campus and forum. On the Monday of the festival, various dance styles will be offered as shorter classes for a whole day, open to all participants. The Campus x Forum format will take place on Tuesday afternoons.

What happens when we all come together?
The “Campus x Forum” format brings together all Campus and Forum participants and brings together the perspectives of younger and older dance professionals. An afternoon to meet, exchange ideas and be together. A place to learn from each other and broaden your own horizons. A place where ideas grow and new perspectives emerge.

We create creative and playful opportunities that enable networking - whether in tandems, in groups or in solo formats. What happens when we all come together? This is precisely where the potential of shared experience unfolds: trying out small tasks, engaging in stimulating conversations and dancing together creates connections that last beyond the moment.
We come into contact, network and let ourselves be inspired by each other.

Come along, be curious, get involved and look forward to a special festival moment with us all!
