Be van Vark

Be van Vark, artistic director of Tänzer* ohne Grenzen e. V., is a Berlin-based choreographer and artistic researcher with an international practice. She develops participatory projects that bring together professional and non-professional performers in collective processes – on stage, in public spaces and within community-based contexts. Dance as a social and political practice is at the heart of her work: her projects create spaces for encounters between generations and cultures and explore social issues through embodied experience. With over 50 productions in Europe, the USA and Africa, she is one of the leading voices in participatory dance practice. She has been awarded the Federal Cross of Merit for her work.
