
Mehmet Can Özer was born in 1981. He studied composition at the Bilkent Üniversitesi in Ankara. Following that, he continued his studies in composition and electronic music at the Conservatory in Geneva with Michael Jarrell and Rainer Boesch and studied in Zurich with Gerald Bennett. He has been a lecturer in Ankara since 2005. He has won several prizes and his works have been presented at international festivals and projects. In 2005, Özer brought to life a concert series with electronic music and gives improve concerts in Turkey. In 2008 he composed music for Ernst Lubitsch’s silent film “The Oyster Princess” (1919). Özer has developed his own software (“Asure”) which he uses in his concerts. At the same time, he also composes for traditional instruments.
