Nadja Sühnel works as a performance and sound artist in Saxony, Thuringia, and elsewhere. She is interested in amateur aesthetics, regional peculiarities and the relationship between artists and audiences. Since 2020, she is part of the group Syndikat Gefährliche Liebschaften, with which she realises research-based art projects with local collaborators, primarily in rural areas. Together with the Syndikat, she developed Thüringen Tralala, a performance series at the Kunstfest Weimar 2025, in which a wide variety of musicians from the region remixed Thuringia together. Most recently, she created Thüringen Supersong, a musical radio play for Deutschlandfunk Kultur. Sühnel studied Scenic Arts at the University of Hildesheim and Experimental Radio at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. She received research grants from the City of Munich’s Department of Culture and the Fonds Darstellende Künste, was a resident of the Thüringer Theaterverband, and gave workshops for federal cultural programmes such as TRAFO and Aller.Land, as well as own seminars at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.
