Ella Rendtorff

Ella Rendtorff, born in 2000, is currently completing her master’s in Cultural Journalism at the University of Music and Theatre Munich. She lives in Berlin, where she moved for her bachelor’s degree in Literature and Political Studies. She grew up in a theatre family and as a child tried on costumes backstage – now she sits in the audience with a notepad and a pen. She created a podcast for the Vagantenbühne Berlin in 2023 and now writes reviews for a range of media including Theater heute, ZEIT and the Süddeutsche Zeitung. What fascinates her about theatre is the sense that there are no boundaries and the sparks that language can send flying on stage. She has a particular interest in female authorship and feminist readings of old material.
