Ceren Yildirim

Ceren Yildirim, born in 1997, lives in Frankfurt am Main, studied for a master’s in Applied Theatre Studies in Gießen and conducts multimedia work in the performing arts. Her origins lie in Dersim in Northern Kurdistan, where art and culture have been maintained for centuries without funding applications or dramaturgy departments. She writes from an urgent need to make stories visible that lie beyond dominant narratives. Ceren Yildirim dreams of a theatre that grows out of collective experiences and explores new possibilities for living together. In co-operation with the Jineolojî Center in Brussels she devised the collective research performance Amargi – Mit der Jineolojî zu einem freien Theater? in 2024. She is also a board member of Sarya – Kurdische Kunst und Kultur e.V.
