Eva Reiter

Born in Vienna, Eva Reiter studied recorder and viola da gamba at Vienna’s University for Music and Performing Arts, from which she graduated with distinction. She continued her studies of both instruments at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam, gaining “cum laude” graduations in both her Master’s diplomas.

Currently, she is actively involved in performing both as a soloist and together with various Baroque orchestras (Trio Unidas, Le Badinage) and ensembles for contemporary music (Ictus, Klangforum Wien, ELASTIC BAND and others). She has been a permanent member of Ictus since February 2015. Her compositions have received the Publicity Price of SKE, the Förderungspreis of the city of Vienna in 2008, the Queen Marie José International Composition Prize 2008, the State Fellowship for Composition, a fellowship at the Akademie Schloss Solitude, the Erste Bank Kompositionspreis 2016 and several others. “Alle Verbindungen gelten nur jetzt” was among the works selected for the 2009 Rostrum of Composers (IRC). Eva Reiter has presented her compositions at various international festivals, such as Transit (Leuven), Ars Musica (Brussels), ISCM World New Music Festival, generator and Wien Modern (Wiener Konzerthaus) and MaerzMusik (Berlin). She regularly performs at renowned festivals for Old and New Music.
