Vincent Delhoume

Vincent Delhoume was born in Bordeaux and in 1996 he began to study the piano with Maryse Brun. In 1999, he entered the Bordeaux Conservatoire and continued his formation as a singer in the class of Maryse Castets.

From 2005, he performed numerous roles which focus particularly on French and Italian music of the 19th century. But his repertoire also includes baroque music, major works of the classical music and music of the 20th century.

He sang the role of John Styx in Jacques Halévy’s and Hector Crémieux’s “Orphée aux enfers”, the Nicias in Jules Massenet’s “Thaïs”, the Commissioner in Gioacchino Rossini’s “Il Signor Bruschino” and Don Basilio in Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “Le nozze di Figaro”. He has appeared in concert in Rossini’s “Petite messe solennelle”, in Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy’s “Lobgesang” and in Johannes Brahms’ “Liebeslieder-Walzer”.

In October 2006, he joined the Paris Opéra’s Atelier Lyrique and participated in a number of performances, including Claudio Monteverdi’s Madrigals and a Shakespeare concert at the Palais Garnier in which he sang the role of Lysander in Benjamin Britten’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”. He took part in a Massenet-Gounod workshop and in a performance of Britten’s “The Rape of Lucretia” as part of the Male Chorus. He sang Ferrando in Mozart’s “Così fan tutte” at Rennes Opera and then at the MC 93 in Bobigny, a Mozart concert at the Palais Garnier in February 2008 with the Paris Opera Orchestra under the baton of Guillaume Tourniaire. He appeared as Spirit in Henry Purcell’s “Dido and Aeneas”, interpreted the title role in Claude Debussy’s “Le Gladiateur”, the Second Blind-born in Xavier Dayer’s “Les Aveugles” and the Tree Frog in Maurice Ravel’s “L’Enfant et les sortilèges” at the Amphitheatre of the Opéra Bastille.

In November 2008, he received AROP’s Opera Prize for the 2007/08 Season. He has appeared on the stage of the Paris Opera in Richard Strauss’ “Capriccio”, in Massenet’s “Werther” (as Brühlmann), in Strauss’ “Salome” (as the Third Jew), again in a opera of Strauss, “Ariadne auf Naxos”, and in Paul Hindemith’s “Mathis der Maler” (as the Piper) and in Verdi’s “Rigoletto” (as Matteo Borsa). More recently, he has performed the roles of Rodriguez in Massenet’s “Don Quichotte” at La Monnaie in Brussels, the Conte d’Albafloria in Bohuslav Martinů’s “Mirandolina” at the MC 93 in Bobigny, again the role of Matteo Borsa in Saint-Etienne, of Don Basilio in Mozart’s “Le nozze di Figaro” and the Third Jew in “Salome” at the Bordeaux Opera. He also appeared in Reynaldo Hahn’s “The Merchant of Venice” at the Massenet Biennale in Saint-Étienne.
