Elke Moltrecht

Elke Moltrecht studied Musicology at the Humboldt University Berlin, was employed the by publishing houses Breitkopf & Härtel, Hofmeister and Deutsche Verlag für Musik, worked at the Bosehaus/Bachmuseum in Leipzig, and is a co-founder of the Heinrich-Schütz-Haus in Bad Köstritz. Elke Moltrecht has been Head of Music at Podewil – Centre for Contemporary Arts and the Ballhaus Naunynstrasse, curator of the project “Visualizing music” for the Humboldt Lab Dahlem and has managed Music 21 Niedersachsen (part of the New Music Network) and the Academy of the Arts of the World in Cologne. Her work focusses on fields including trans-traditional musical practice and research, concert forms and cosmopolitan curating. She has established international and interdisciplinary festivals and programmes that have integrated music into unusual thematic contexts. She is a regular contributor to music journals and member of authoritative national and international juries and boards. She currently works as a curator, producer and consultant in Berlin.
