Monique Langford

Monique Langford is a costume and set designer from Melbourne, Australia, now living in Berlin. Langford graduated from the Master of Fine Arts - Design for Performance programme at the National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA) in Sydney in 2021. Following this she worked in various film and television art departments before returning to the theatre and working as a freelance set and costume designer for two years. During this time she designed for some of Sydney’s best known theatres including Hayes Theatre Company and Riverside Parramatta, as well as the National Opera Canberra. She came to Berlin after winning the Opera Foundation Australia’s Berlin New Music Award 2023/2024 which supported her move to work in the costume department of the Deutsche Oper Berlin. Since then, she has worked as a costume assistant at the Deutsche Oper Berlin and the Staatsschauspiel Dresden amongst other German theatres.
