Sophie Blomen works as a theatre and festival producer. Her work moves between curatorial practice and artistic authorship – between organising spaces and designing her own narratives. In her work, she is interested in how personal experience, collective structures and politics merge into aesthetic forms.
She studied Scenic Arts and Staging the Arts and Media at the University of Hildesheim. As part of the artistic direction team there, she curated the transeuropa – European Festival for Performing Arts 2018.
Since 2022, she has been working for the Performing Exiles festival, most recently as co-curator with Matthias Lilienthal.
Since 2026, she is doing her PhD at the Collaborative Research Center “Human Differentiation” at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz on a poetology of funding calls and the aesthetic relationship between calls for proposals and the resulting productions
