Kaj Duncan David, born 1988, is a British/Danish composer working with mixed-media and exploring various intersections between instrumental, electronic, audio-visual and installatory forms. His recent output often incorporates light and/or video, sometimes explores concrete or everyday situations, and increasingly aspires to scenic composition.
From 2006 to 2009, he has studied Music at Goldsmiths in London and composition with Simon Steen-Andersen in Aarhus from 2011 to 2013. Nowadays, he is studying with Manos Tsangaris and Franz Martin Olbrisch at the Hochschule für Musik in Dresden.
His work has been performed at festivals such as Rainy Days (Luxembourg), Klangwerkstatt (Berlin), Ultima (Oslo), Darmstädter Ferienkurse für Neue Musik (Germany), Klang (Copenhagen), Spor (Aarhus), NextFest (Canada), Collision (London), with ensembles such as Lucilin (Lu), Aksiom (No), Pärlor för Svin (Se), Curious Chamber Players (Se), Mimitabu (Se) and ensemble recherche (De).
