Markus Selg

Born in Germany in 1974, Markus Selg studied at the Akademie Isotrop in Hamburg, which he co founded. He is a multimedia artist who explores the dynamics between archaic myth and computer technology through digital painting, sculpture, immersive installations, theatre and virtual reality (VR).

In 2019/20, Coming Society and Ultraworld were created at the Volksbühne Berlin. For Ultraworld, Selg received the German Theatre Award DER FAUST for Best Stage Design in 2020. He develops scenographic installations that he condenses into multimedia experiential spaces through the use of film, sculpture, performance and music.

Selg works across a wide range of genres, including visual art, feature films and opera productions.
