Jean Maurer

Jean Maurer, born in 1999, lives in Frankfurt am Main and is a doctoral candidate in Theatre Studies at the Goethe University Frankfurt. He has previously studied Theatre, Film and Media Studies and Philosophy in Frankfurt am Main and New York. Theatre has fascinated him from an early age as a place for critical reflection and self-scrutiny, but also for hopes of change. As a freelance writer for outlets including nachtkritik.de, he likes to ask philosophical questions to evenings he has experienced in the theatre. He is especially interested in productions that prefer to take big risks and might cause offense rather than rely on forms that are tried and tested.
