Carles Batlle

The Catalan dramatist Carles Batlle was invited to the Stückemarkt in 2004 with his play “Temptació – Temptation”. Besides being a playwright, he works as a dramaturge, theatre critic and professor of dramaturgy at the Universitat Autònoma in Barcelona, the Institut del Teatre de Barcelona and at the Catalan National Theatre. From 2003 to 2009, he was the director of the L’Obrador de la Sala Beckett (Barcelona). Furthermore, he is a mentor at the festival NEW PLAYS FROM EUROPE in Wiesbaden. Last year he published his novel: “Kàrvadan. La llegenda de l’impostor”, the first volume of a fantasy literature trilogy. His plays have been translated into ten languages and are published and performed worldwide.
