Alexandre Fostier

Alex Fostier (1966) studied animated cartoon at “École supérieure des arts visuels de La Cambre” in Brussels and sound engineering at “Institut des arts de diffusion” at Louvain la Neuve, Belgium. In 1999, after a few years of studio work, Alex Fostier started to work as a sound engineer for the “Rosas” dance company in Brussels. He has been involved in nearly all creations and tours until now.

As sound engineer Alex has collaborated with music ensembles, festivals, institutions, theatre groups and choreographers such as the Blindman Quartet, Ircam, Walpurgis, TG Stan, Alain Platel, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Thomas Hauert, Vincent Dunoyer, Marc Morris, Meg Stuart, FC Bergman, Wax Tailor and opera houses in Europe.

As musician and a sound designer Alex has been invited to work with Blindman Quartet, Aka Moon, Thierry De Mey, Remy Delvaux, Octurn, Liesa van de AA and the choreographers Alain Platel, Maud le Pladec, Thomas Hauert, Pierre Droulers, Vincent Dunoyer, Brice Leroux and Andy Deneys / Galothar, Since 1994 Alex started a close collaboration with the contemporary music ensemble Ictus in Brussels, becoming a member of the ensemble in 1999.

During these years up until today Alex has been involved in nearly all amplified concerts, CD publications and creations of Ictus with among others Georges Aperghis, Thierry De Mey, Philippe Manoury, Magnus Lindberg, Jonathan Harvey, Javier Alvarez, Steve Reich and Fausto Romitelli.
