Rike Scheffler

Rike Scheffler, born in 1985, works across disciplines in the fields of poetry, performance, installation and music. She studied psychology in Berlin and creative writing at the German Literature Institute in Leipzig. For her work, she has received working scholarships from the German Literature Fund, as well as the Wiesbaden Orphil Debut Prize for Poetry for her poetry collection ‘der rest ist resonanz’ (kookbooks, 2014). Scheffler's recently published second poetry collection ‘Lava. Rituale’ (kookbooks, 2023) explores tender, speculative ways of being in cross-species alliances and collaborations with more-than-human agents and AI. She translates other poets into German and collaborates on international workshops and performance series with Ólafur Elíasson's Institute for Spatial Experiments.
