Junges Sinfonieorchester Berlin

Junges Sinfonieorchester Berlin was founded in 2010 by pianist and conductor Andreas Schulz. The dynamic and vibrant ensemble consists of accomplished musicians, dedicated music-lovers and students of music, who gather for intensive rehearsal periods followed by concerts.

The repertoire of Junges Sinfonieorchester Berlin includes contemporary, baroque, classical and romantic works, symphonies and chamber operas. The orchestra regularly performs at Philharmonie Berlin, at Schloss Britz and at Konzerthaus Berlin, accompanying outstanding soloists. For three years, they have been the festival orchestra of the International Youth Music Festival in Rodachtal. On the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, JSO performed live at Brandenburger Tor. Also in 2015, the orchestra performed in the sold-out broadcasting hall of Hessischer Rundfunk and at the Wiesbaden Kurhaus as part of the project “Die Schöpfung. Gemeinsam. Neu. Erleben”. In 2016, JSO has performed in numerous concerts so far, among them two nights in the Great Hall of the Berliner Philharmonie with outstanding programmes.
