Jana Forkel

Jana Forkel was born in Marburg and grew up in the Ruhr area. She studied communications studies (B.A.) and TV journalism (M.A.) before completing an editorial internship in Hamburg. She has been appearing on television as a reporter and presenter since 2013 and has made regular stage appearances since 2023 in WDR’s children’s concerts with the WDR Sinfonieorchester, the WDR Funkhausorchester and the WDR Big Band.

She is also known for programmes such as Neuneinhalb and Die Sendung mit der Maus. In 2018 she was awarded the Golden Elephant (Prix Jeunesse) for the series Weltreise Deutschland.
