Markus Rindt

Markus Rindt, artistic director of the Dresdner Sinfoniker, was born in Magdeburg in 1967. His first engagement as a soloist horn player at the Orchester der Landesbühnen Sachsen followed advanced studies with Prof. Erich Penzel at the Hochschule für Musik in Cologne. In 1996 he founded the Dresdner Sinfoniker together with Sven Helbig. Markus Rindt has been a regular on the jury of various composition competitions since 2004, among them the composition competition of the Gläsernen Manufaktur Dresden and the Brandenburg Biennale. Markus Rindt and Sven Helbig were awarded the “Kunstförderpreis der Landeshauptstadt Dresden” (“Art Promotion Prize of the City of Dresden”) in 2000, and in 2010 they were selected by readers of the Dresdner Neuesten Nachrichten to be among the top 10 “Dresdeners of the decade”.
