Marc Sinan
Guitarist and composer Marc Sinan, the son of a Turkish-Armenian mother and a German father, has performed with renowned partners such as Julia Hülsmann, Jörg Widmann, Kayhan Kalhor and Burhan Öcal and as a soloist with prominent orchestras such as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the Georgian Chamber Orchestra. Together with his ensemble, the Marc Sinan Company, he has realised his own multimedia projects. In 1998 Jörg Widmann dedicated his commissioned work “Entschwebung” to him. Since his tour from Istanbul to Buenos Aires (2002) with Burhan Öcal, he has also worked extensively with musicians of other genres. In February 2009, his CD “Fasil” was released by ECM. His new music theatre work, “Dede Korkut” will premiere in autumn 2013 in collaboration with the Dresdner Sinfonikern and choreographer Constanza Macras in Berlin.
