Sharon Mercado Nogales

Sharon Mercado Nogales is a dancer and choreographer from the Bolivian Andes. In her work, she incorporates autobiographical material that undergoes a process of memory, using the knowledge of her ancestors and her current life experiences as a framework to rethink and transform them. Her aim is to create bodily practices and dance pieces that move both bodies and emotions. She constantly seeks to challenge the current cultural spectrum through the body, working with the resignification of her materialities. She co-created the collective Moviendo Territorios with Eli Wewentxu and cobracobra with Kiana Rezvani. Since 2021, she has been sharing the dance practice Technocumbia.
