
Lothar Zagrosek, a former member of the Regensburger Domspatzen, studied conducting with Hans Swarowsky and Herbert von Karajan, among others. Following stations in smaller cities, Zagrosek became chief conductor of the ORF symphony orchestra in Vienna. Following this were leading positions in Paris, London, Leipzig, at the Stuttgart state opera and in Berlin, where he was chief conductor of the Konzerthausorchester from 2006 to 2012. Lothar Zagrosek is a regular guest conductor at large orchestras. He has, in particular, earned a reputation as a contemporary music specialist and also focuses on rarely played music.
