Aliyye Sahin

Aliyye was born and raised in Berlin. She has been passionate about dance for over ten years. She got her start in hip-hop with her crew, the ‘Bordaboogies’, an all-female crew with whom she still performs on stage, takes part in battles and develops theatre productions. Over the years, her style has evolved - from the classic battle scene to more expressive and narrative elements in storytelling. New impulses, particularly from hip-hop house, afro house, litefeet and voguing, have led her increasingly in the direction of dance theatre. Parallel to her dance work, Aliyye studies social work and runs hip-hop dance classes for girls aged 9 to 13. Her aim is to give young dancers self-confidence and expressiveness through dance. For her, dance is not just an art form, but above all a space for encounters, understanding and freedom.
