Melvin Schwertel

Melvin Schwertel, born in 2004, is a freelance journalist and moderator in Cologne. He works for outlets including WDR and Deutschlandradio. He reports for the media magazine @mediasres on Deutschlandfunk about the culture of debate and the visibility of minorities in the media space. In addition to several internships in political journalism, he has also worked at ZDF Kultur Berlin on aspekte. He focusses primarily on socio-political themes, while also moderating podium discussions and readings. He would like to understand the world better and recognise connections. In light of this, he studied Media and Cultural Studies and Philosophy.
