Okkyung Lee

Born in 1974 in South Korea and cellist and composer Okkyung Lee, who received classical training in the USA, combines different kinds of influences in her work that stretch from traditional Korean music through improvisation, jazz and progressive rock music to experiences with extended contemporary music techniques. The cellist, who has lived in New York since 2000, has worked with such renowned musicians as Laurie Anderson, John Zorn and Axel Dörner and has released several albums.
